Our Work
Working night and day-your limbic system that is, hopefully not you!
Answers for 3 points of body language:
• Open torso/chest
• Eye contact
• Smile
• Feet facing towards us
• Palms on display
There are others like head tilt, open expression etc. In body language we talk about "clusters" and as a general rule, 3 signals that are congruent will usually point to a certain attitude, emotion or thinking process for that person at that point in time.
Below is the Body Language talk I gave for advanced mediation for the Society of Mediators, SOM
Hands are a giveaway, so what do we do with them? This is a very short clip, more detailed info can be found at the next talk, but as a tip for you reading now-when sitting at a desk make sure both hands can be seen and are as relaxed as possible, this way you will feel and come across as relaxed and in control and any hand gestures you make can be clearly seen and read.
The classic mistake is to to pick up pens or objects and fiddle with them which is distracting and shows stress -calm, show those pesky hands who is boss !Our limbic system is always switched on, it is both reflexive and instantaneous -it is therefore the true response to a given stimuli at that time, unlike our neo cortex, that can take us to the moon and compose beautiful music and...lie...!

Nervous energy, for whatever reason, will manifest itself in the body as: twitches in the hands or feet, excessive blinking or fidgeting in some form, as the body shows what the brain is really feeling or thinking at that time.

Typically in a workshop we would customise specifically to your specific goals and of course the fundamentals including:
• A rundown of body language-what it is exactly and the physiology involved.
• Techniques with explanations and examples of each
• Become self aware -your habits and quirks and what they are signalling to us.
• Become aware of other's body language and how to interpret it.
• Discover how body language changes in different situations.
eg. work, social and even dating.
• Male versus female Body Language - yes some of it is different!
• Discover with exercises how to utilise them.
